Class of '09
Abby (Saeger) Randall has made an impact in the Bemidji business community since graduating from Bemidji State in 2009, serving local businesses as a marketing consultant and advertising lead for the Bemidji Pioneer.
Effective January 6, 2020, she will have the opportunity to make an even larger impact on the community in her newly-announced role as executive director of the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Throughout the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to develop lasting connections within the Bemidji area business community,” she said in a press release. “Through countless discussions about marketing strategies, plans, as well as highlights and struggles of being a business owner in Bemidji, I feel that I am in tune with what affects our small businesses’ bottom line and health.”
The Ortonville, Minn. native will be in charge of day-to-day operations for the organization, which promotes economic growth in the Bemidji area and provides support and resources to its over 400 members. Her office will be in the Tourist Information Center along Lake Bemidji’s waterfront and just steps from Bemidji’s most recognizable landmarks – Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.
She is active in many local community organizations including the Chamber’s Young Professionals Network and the Boys and Girls Club of Bemidji. She is also the founder and president of the sports booster club at Laporte Public Schools in Laporte, Minn.
Abby is married to Ross, a 2008 BSU grad and 6th grade teacher at Bemidji Middle School. The couple has two children.
