What do Beavers and cacti have in common? Arizona was full of them both this past weekend.

The Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation returned to the Grand Canyon State from March 6-8, where alumni and friends congregated for a lively series of events.

The weekend kicked off at PopStroke Mini Golf in Glendale — featuring fantastic food, a competitive spirit on the greens, and PopStroke-branded Yeti cups becoming the unofficial souvenir of the weekend. (Not to mention a number of hole-in-ones.)

The next morning, the group ventured north for a brunch cruise on Lake Pleasant in Peoria. The food was delicious, the scenery was stunning, and the conversations shared around deck of "The Phoenix" made the experience even more memorable.

Finally, the weekend wrapped up with a picnic gathering at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. The setting was picturesque, the weather could not have been more perfect, and once again the best part of the afternoon was simply spending time together to reconnect and share stories.

“The weekend in Arizona was a tremendous amount of fun and a great reminder of how strong the Beaver community is, no matter where our alumni call home,” said Angela Schmidt, the director of alumni and career advancement. “Every event was filled with laughter and meaningful connections. It means a great deal to Bemidji State to see our alumni and friends continue to show up, support one another, and stay engaged with the university year after year.”

Many attendees were members of the Arizona Network and were eligible to receive discounts for the events. For more information on the Arizona Network, click the button below or visit bsualumni.org/networks.
