About the Athletic Hall of Fame

The Bemidji State Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes alumni, former coaches, administrators and others who have excelled and brought acclaim to the university through their accomplishments.

There are several categories in which former athletes, coaches and others may be honored. Nominations for the following Hall of Fame areas must be submitted by Jan. 1 each year and honorees are selected by the BSU Alumni B-Club. Hall of Fame nomination forms

Nominations will undergo a one-year vetting process and are due by Jan. 1 for consideration in the upcoming class. You may submit your nomination online or by printing the form and mailing it in.

Athletic Hall of Fame nomination: Individual athlete

BSU Athletic Hall of Fame recipients are selected by the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee primarily for distinguished athletic achievement while attending Bemidji State. The committee will also consider notable professional accomplishment since graduation. Nominees must have earned an athletic letter at BSU and must have attended BSU for at least two years and not have graduated from another university.

John S. Glas Honorary Letter Winner Award

Individuals who were not student-athletes at BSU but have had a major impact on Beaver Athletics

Athletic Hall of Fame nomination: John S. Glas Honorary Letter Winner Award

The John S. Glas Honorary Letter Winner Award was created in 2011 and is intended to recognize an individual or individuals who, though not student-athletes at BSU, have had a major impact on BSU Athletics, much like the late John Glas did during his 34-year tenure at BSU. His service included roles as vice president for finance and briefly as acting president from 1967 to 1968. His strong support of athletics earned him the honor of having the fieldhouse named after him upon his retirement in 1975.

This award bearing his name symbolizes the fact that Beaver Athletics is much more than the sum-total of its student athletes and coaches. Many people share their passion, energy and time with the Green and White, including some whose commitment is especially significant and enduring.
