The Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation has welcomed Allison Conner as its new communications associate. She began her role on Sept. 22 and has already contributed to the organization through photography and videography, event support, Homecoming communications, and website support.
A proud BSU alumna, Conner earned her bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State in 2016 before completing her master's in Leadership for Creative Enterprises at Northwestern University’s School of Communication. She credits the BSU McNair Scholars program for helping her to excel into and through an extensive master’s program. She brings experience in communications, marketing, and event coordination across higher education, hospitality, and the entertainment industry.
In her position with the Alumni & Foundation, Conner supports a wide range of communication and marketing efforts designed to strengthen connections with alumni, donors, and friends of the university. Working alongside the communications manager, she helps develop storytelling strategies, marketing materials, and digital content that highlight the foundation’s impact and the generosity of its supporters. Her work focuses on creating meaningful ways to showcase the difference these contributions make for students, campus programs, and the greater Beaver community.
Conner said she looks forward to sharing stories that illustrate why BSU remains such an influential part of so many lives.
“Time at Bemidji State shapes your education and career path, but it also goes beyond that,” she said. “It shapes who you are as a person — your sense of belonging, creativity, and community. I want to tell those stories through my work.”
