Than "Alan" Lwin '05
Than, the president of the Yangon Region Young Entrepreneurs Association, has helped raise over $150,000 to fund breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the doctors, nurses and lab experts fighting COVID-19 in the Yangon region of his home country of Myanmar. The recipient of BSU's Young Alumni of the Year Award in 2019, Than and his family also covered the cost of NCLEX exam fees for BSU’s 49 recently-graduated registered nursing students.

Pro-West and Associates
BSU supporter Pro-West & Associates, based in Walker, Minn., collaborated with the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, Visit Bemidji and myBemidji to create an online restaurant guide to provide information about Bemidji-area restaurants and bars offering take-out, pick-up and delivery services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jake Bluhm '08, '12
The Jake Bluhm State Farm Agency donated over 100 dozen doughnuts that were delivered to all Sanford Bemidji departments and locations. The doughnuts were in appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice of Sanford Bemidji employees during the COVID-19 outbreak. Jake Bluhm is a former BSU men's hockey player.

Denae (Fisher) Alamano '07
Led by Executive Director Denae (Fisher) Alamano ’07, the United Way of the Bemidji Area has awarded a total of $58,000 to ten organizations representing a wide range of critical food security and healthcare services that impact thousands of people in the Bemidji area in response to the COVID-19 situation.
