About the Alumni Relative Scholarship
The Alumni Relative Scholarship program provides $1,000 scholarships to a limited number of students attending Bemidji State University who are relatives of alumni who donate at least $75 to the Alumni & Foundation. Scholarships are made possible by alumni of BSU who contribute to the Lakeside Fund.
The number of scholarships awarded every year is determined by available funds. The Alumni Relative Scholarship is competitive. Not all students who apply will receive an award.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 1 annually.

To apply for an Alumni Relative Scholarship, students must meet the following qualifications:
- Accepted for admission to BSU by Feb. 1.
- Be the child, grandchild, sibling, first cousin, niece (great-niece), nephew (great-nephew), aunt, uncle or parent of an alum who has contributed at least $75 to Bemidji State University in the past year.
- Submit a completed scholarship application no later than Feb. 1.
- Carry a minimum of 12 credits per semester to remain eligible.
The relative can become a contributor by donating $75 or more to the Alumni & Foundation before Feb. 1.
