Give Back. Creatively.
The Dam Builders Club is our volunteer crew that helps with the behind-the-scenes functionality of events, assists on special projects, and enrolls in pay-it-forward programs like Beaver Mentors or our board of directors.
Giving back to Bemidji State can be more than just financially. While philanthropy is one of our key pillars and is vital to the success of BSU and its students, so is an eager base of alumni and friends who want to give back with their time and talents.

Here's Where You Come In.
Take a look at our current volunteer opportunities, and find a fit that's right for you.
Event Support
This is our most frequent need. We host many campus events, alumni gatherings, and community engagement opportunities throughout the year, and we can always use an extra set of helping hands. Whether you've got the muscle to set up tables, the personality to do event outreach, or the eye to put finishing touches on décor — or even just a can-do attitude — add yourself to the call list and be ready to get called into action. Click the Sign Up button to see our annual calendar of event needs.
Beaver Mentors
Our Beaver Mentors program is part of our Discover3 initiative and is designed to connect alumni with current students, new grads and like-minded alums to guide and support those seeking help in navigating their careers. Whether you'd like to be a mentor or a mentee, you can join for free and get ahead of the competition!
Alumni Leaders in the Classroom
Alumni and friends can return to the classroom and share their expertise with current students in a variety of fields and majors. Alumni Leaders in the Classroom events take place during Homecoming week each fall.
Alumni & Foundation Board of Directors
Apply to join the Bemidji State Alumni & Foundation's Board of Directors, or nominate another qualified candidate for consideration. Board members can serve one or two three-year terms and make a difference in a variety of ways and areas of expertise.
