Kathryn "Kathy" Habstritt

Kathy received her bachelor of science degree from Bemidji State College in 1968. She taught kindergarten in Bemidji ISD No. 31 for more than 30 years and was a passionate advocate for early childhood education and for teachers. Over the course of her career, she impacted the lives of hundreds of students and actively fought for equal pay for female teachers. Kathy was a devoted mother and cherished being a grandmother to her two granddaughters. She loved reading and singing to them and treasured time spent at “Grammie Camp.” In her later years, she attended out-of-state dance competitions and pageants with her granddaughters and proudly celebrated their high school graduation.
