Norbert Joseph Pastir passed away peacefully at the age of 86, on December 1, 2024, at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. Norbert was born on the family farm near Veseleyville, North Dakota. He was the second of five children born to Joseph and Eugenia (Houdek) Pastir on May 16, 1938. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1955. After high school, he attended one year of college at St. John’s University before transferring to Bemidji State University (BSU) where he earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. While at BSU, he played catcher for their baseball team.
