Meet the People of the North
This is Bemijigamaag. A place where the land speaks, and we listen. Here, every student, every graduate, every soul leaves behind a story that becomes a part of this place. So we ask ourselves: "What is the story that carries you?"

Who We Are
Our alumni body of more than 50,000 Beavers started with just four students who earned their diplomas in June 1920.
Two years later, the BSU Alumni & Foundation was formed at Sanford Hall in conjunction with that year's graduation. Then an all-female body, it was first called the Bemidji State Teachers College Alumnae Association before being renamed to the Alumni Association in 1927. The BSU Foundation was founded in 1969 as a separate, nonprofit entity. In 2016, the separate Alumni Association board and the BSU Foundation board merged to establish the Bemidji State Alumni & Foundation.
