The fairways are calling again.
Bemidji State University is kicking off its summer golf tour with the 49th annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament presented by Deerwood Bank. The event returns to the Bemidji Town & Country Club on June 12, and registration is open now.
This year's scramble format tournament features five-person teams with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The registration fee of $150 per golfer or $750 per team includes golf, two carts per team, tee prizes, brats on the course, and a meal after the round.
All proceeds support scholarships for BSU student-athletes through the BSU Athletics Fund and an endowment created in the name of the late Gordy Skaar. To date, the Skaar has raised over $1,000,000 in support of Beaver Athletics.
Please note that registration is online only, and no on-site registration will be available.
Volunteers will play a vital role in making our summer golf outings possible through a variety of serving opportunities. To sign up as a Dam Builders Club volunteer, visit bsualumni.org/events/skaar.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Your business or name can be displayed prominently at a golf hole, the check-in tent, the club house and the pro shop. Hole sponsorships are $150, flag sponsorships are $300, and major sponsorships are $1,000. Contact Jesse Katz at jesse.katz@bemidjistate.edu or 218-755-2827 for more information on sponsorships.
