Lines have been drawn, allegiances forged, and rosters set for Bemidji State University’s second annual Bucky’s Celebrity Softball Game.
The Green Sox and coach Kristen McRae will look to defend last year’s narrow victory over the Whitecaps in this year’s installment of the annual showdown, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. on June 10 at the BSU softball field.
McRae’s team features Denise Black, Makenna Fenson, Ann Aitken Humphrey, Charlie Yaeger, Ashley Gomez, Gary “Ziggy” Zerott, MacKenzie Burnham, Emily Lauritsen and Rachel Hagge.
On the flip side, new Whitecaps coach Linda Newby boasts a lineup that includes Sean Daniels, Mady Schmidt, Maya Schmidt, Joel Hoover, Tyler Orgon, Jared Rubado, Jason Stanoch, Kristin Monkman and Dennis Weimann.
This family-friendly event is the latest installment of BSU’s Community Appreciation Day series and is meant to show our gratitude for the community’s support of Bemidji State.
Admission is free for everyone. Additionally, giveaways and prizes will be up for grabs throughout the game — such as Twins tickets and Bemidji State stadium blankets — and all attendees will have the chance to enter for free. The Bemidji Dirty Dough food truck will also be on hand, and there will even be a special kids zone area with extra activities.
