The final numbers are in for Bemidji State University’s 2025 Day of Giving. Drumroll, please…
You helped us raise a grand total of $323,179 this year! That’s an incredible number — it marks an all-time high since Day of Giving began in 2019, and it also emphasizes just how much students will benefit because of your generosity.

Total raised in 2025In all, 574 donors participated in Day of Giving this year. Gifts ranged from $5 to $100,000, and every dollar made a difference in helping us support our students in life-changing ways. The day also allowed our BSU community to better understand the needs, passions and opportunities happening all throughout campus.
“Day of Giving provides our alumni and donors a chance to learn more about the work our various departments, teams, and student groups are working on as well as how they can support that work,” said Gwenia Fiskevold Gould, the Alumni & Foundation’s Day of Giving director. “Our BSU campus community has worked hard to identify projects that have a direct impact on students. The dollars raised for Day of Giving go to work right away.”
Support poured in from near and far. Among our top donor types, alumni accounted for 60% of donors this year, while friends of the university accounted for 13%. Staff and faculty also accounted for 13% of donors, parents made up 11% and current students made up 3%.
Our top state, unsurprisingly, was Minnesota — 535 gifts came out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Wisconsin was the second-ranked state with 30 gifts, while Illinois came in third at 22 gifts. Going internationally, we also saw gifts sent in from Canada, Hungary, Hong Kong and Finland.
“It is truly inspiring seeing what 574 members of our BSU community can achieve together,” Fiskevold Gould said. “Bemidji State University has the legacy it does because so many people believe in the education it provides and know it is worth investing in.”
