At Bemidji State University, Day of Giving creates an opportunity for donors to change the lives of students. And, if they’re lucky, those donors can maximize their impact with the right challenge or matching gift.
Challenges and matching gifts are great incentives to better fund your favorite designations during Day of Giving. And this year, we’ve got a number of exciting opportunities for donors. But be warned: You may have to compete against your fellow Beaver in order to claim a coveted prize.
So mark your calendars, set your alarms and ready yourself to make one of the most impactful gifts possible on Day of Giving.
Challenges are awarded based on specific criteria. This year’s challenges are:
- Recurring Gift Challenge: The first three donors to make recurring gifts of $10/month will have their gifts matched for the first year. (Starting at 12 a.m.)
- Early Bird Gets the Worm Challenge: The first five donors to make a gift of $150 or more unlock an extra $150 for the designation of their gift. (Starting at 5 a.m.)
- End Strong Challenge: The donor with the largest gift from 6–11:59 p.m. unlocks $1,100 for the fund of their choice. (From 6–11:59 p.m.)
- The Final Countdown Challenge: The last five gifts over $300 unlock an additional $350 for the fund of their choice. (From 10–11:59 p.m.)
This year’s challenges are sponsored by DaQuan Jewell and Allyssa Joseph.
Matching gifts are unlocked when the entire donor base meets a certain threshold. This year’s matching gifts are:
- Bucky Forever Fund Match: $1,000 (sponsored by Joanne Provo)
- International Student Organization Match: $1,000 (sponsored by DaQuan Jewell and Allyssa Joseph)
- Lakeside Fund Match: $10,000 (sponsored by Robin Kelleher)
- Men’s Golf Match: $500 (sponsored by Ekren Miller)
- Softball Match: $2,500 (sponsored by an anonymous donor)
- Technology, Art & Design Match: $1,000 (sponsored by Ron Leisey)
