Bemidji State University's 3rd annual War on the Shore fishing tournament returns on July 17, 2021 to your favorite local lake. New this year, participants can compete from anywhere, not just in Bemidji.

Fish your favorite lake, wherever that may be.

The tournament is open to the public and all proceeds support the BSU Football program. Compete for cash prizes and other merchandise.

Rules

  • Cost: $300 per boat (max 3 people per boat)
  • New this year, there are two divisions (local and national)
    • Local Division: participants in this division can only fish fish lakes located in Beltrami, Hubbard or Cass County
    • National Division: participants can fish any lake, anywhere, as long as the target species (walleye and northern pike) are present
  • Tournament is catch-and-release only. Participants must use tourneyangler.com to upload a picture of the fish on a measuring board and a hero shot holding the fish
  • Eligible species are walleye and northern pike
  • Rankings will be determined by the longest 7 walleyes and the largest 3 northern pike per boat
  • Prizes awarded based on total length of 10 fish (7 walleyes and 3 northern pike) per boat
    • Local Division prizes
      • 1st prize - $2,000
      • 2nd prize - $1,000
      • 3rd prize - $500
      • Biggest walleye - $200
        *Payment is based on minimum 25 registered boats
    • National Division Prize
      • 50% pay-out of all National Division registrations ($1,000 max)
