Bemidji State University has been ranked as the sixth-best best online college in Minnesota by Forbes Advisor.
Forbes Advisor scored 46 accredited, nonprofit colleges in Minnesota that offer online bachelor’s degree programs in Minnesota. Schools were scored against 17 data points in five categories, including student outcomes, affordability, student experience, credibility and the application process by using data from the federal government’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, third-party data sources and individual school and program websites. They chose the top 10 best schools that received a final score of 85% or higher based on those categories.
Forbes Advisor ranks colleges offering online degrees as they help overcome barriers by offering more flexible study schedules and less travel requirements.
Forbes highlighted Bemidji State for having 13 fully online degree programs and four hybrid programs, ranging from synchronous and asynchronous classes that follow the same 15-week semester courses as on-campus classes. They also highlighted Bemidji State’s student retention rate of 71% and its flat-rate tuition that allows students to take 18 credits a semester for the same price as 12 credits.
Joining BSU in the Forbes Advisor Top 10 for Minnesota online colleges were the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, University of Minnesota Crookston, Herzing University, St. Catherine University, Concordia University St. Paul, St. Mark’s University of Minnesota and North Central University.
