The Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation celebrated a whole lot of good in 2024. From inspiring alumni to incredible events, Beavers near and far helped us further the mission of BSU over the past 12 months with a fervor that we’ve seldom seen before.
Our office has been fortunate to be involved in many of these moments, and we’re proud to celebrate the best of the past 12 months here today.
Far and away, Snow Sharks mania was our most popular story of 2024. The April Fools’ Day gag generated an unprecedented and unexpected surge of emotions at the faux retirement of our “Beavers” nickname.
Thousands of folks returned to campus for September’s Homecoming, and many others stopped by virtually to explore History in the Pines, BSU’s new digital museum that launched in January. Our premier summer golf events were as successful as ever, and donors raised an unparalleled amount of scholarship money and support for our students during Day of Giving in February.
Whether you’ll best remember 2024 for unicycles, athletic championships, Bucky’s hijinks or any number of other deserving reasons, we hope your takeaway is this: There’s a lot of good going on at Bemidji State, and there’s never been a better time to join the momentum.
