Virtual social work panel scheduled for Oct. 21
BSU social work alumni Jennifer Kovach ’93 and Jenn Anderson ’95 will speak about their social work careers, share advice to those entering the field and present the mission of their nonprofit organization, Hands of Action International, during the BSU Alumni & Foundation’s upcoming virtual Alumni Leaders in the Classroom panel on October 21 at 11 a.m. CST.
Kovach and Anderson were recently awarded Northern Minnesota Achievement Awards by Bemidji State University, and were scheduled to be recognized at the Student Achievement Conference this past spring on the BSU campus. The conference was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Hands of Action International (HOAI) is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide education, healthcare and economic opportunities to remote communities in the Bududa district of eastern Uganda. More information about HOAI’s mission can be found on their website.
The panel will be hosted online via Zoom and moderated by BSU’s social work department chair, Dr. Rebecca Hoffman. The event is free and open to all students, alumni and the public.
