Cantabria Coffee, a beloved local business in Bemidji, was crowned the winner of the 2024 Best BSU Spirit Contest, which celebrated community displays of Bemidji State University pride during Homecoming Week from Sept. 23-27.
The contest invited local businesses to showcase their BSU spirit with creative storefront displays, with public voting held on the Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation Facebook page.
Cantabria Coffee’s display, a vibrant blend of BSU colors and Beaver pride, won the hearts of the community, gathering the most "Likes" in the online voting.
Their standout feature? A beautifully decorated drive-through window showcasing a hand-drawn image of Bucky the Beaver himself, which delighted customers throughout the week.
When Bucky visited to deliver the grand prize, he was thrilled to see his likeness on the window and even got the chance to step behind the counter to brew himself a fresh cup of coffee.
As part of the grand prize, Bucky presented Cantabria with a BSU-themed basket containing two Homecoming football game tickets, cozy BSU stadium blankets, Beaver can koozies, and a unique Beaver Float-Eh.
