Kari Cooper has been named advancement officer for the Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation effective June 21, 2022.
In her new role, Cooper works to align current and prospective donors’ interests with Bemidji State University’s strategic fundraising objectives.
Most of Cooper’s career and volunteer experience has centered on the higher education and nonprofit management fields. She most recently spent over five years with the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, first as Communications Manager and then as a program officer implementing a State of Minnesota grant focused on increasing access to services for families with children ages birth to eight years old throughout a 12-county service area in northwest Minnesota. She was also Bemidji State University’s Student Senate co-president from 2012-2014 and served on the BSU Alumni & Foundation’s Board of Directors from 2015-2021. Currently she volunteers as the Vice Chair of the Northwoods Battered Women’s Shelter Board of Directors.
Cooper graduated from Bemidji State University in 2014 with a degree in liberal studies and a minor in mass communications.
