Fresh off a multi-championship season in 2023-24 for Beaver Athletics, “The Team Behind the Teams” is recalibrating its focus for the 2024-25 season and beyond.

Beaver Pride, which has traditionally encompassed financial support for Bemidji State Athletics, is redefining itself as all things engagement with the Beavers.

In step with the shift, Beaver Pride’s annual fund has been renamed to the BSU Athletics Fund. The accounts are changing in name only, and gifts previously made to the Beaver Pride Fund will now automatically go to the BSU Athletics Fund.

In conjunction with the revamp, the Alumni & Foundation is proud to announce the lineup of Beaver Pride events coming to town this fall. Some of the notable engagement opportunities include an unveiling of a Bob Peters bust, the 18th annual Serratore Spaghetti Dinner and a new Meet the Beavers series.

The full list includes:

  • Aug. 26: Meet the Beavers for fall and spring sports
  • Aug. 28: Hockey Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night at The Tavern on South Shore
  • Aug. 29: Beaver Pride Tailgate presented by HotSpring Hot Tubs of Northern MN

The Meet the Beavers event is a new opportunity allowing community members the chance to meet and interact with current coaches and student-athletes. The family-friendly event will include light snacks, autograph opportunities and interviews of players and coaches. Prizes will also be up for grabs to those in attendance.

Meet the Beavers will feature student-athletes from fall and spring sports. The event is set for 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, in the John Glas Fieldhouse foyer. The cost is $10 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Pre-registration is required for Meet the Beavers, and fans can sign up by visiting www.bsualumni.org/meet-the-beavers.

Hockey Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Tavern on South Shore. Athletic director Britt Lauritsen will be on hand to talk hockey alongside coaches and captains from both the men’s and women’s teams. There will also be appetizers and a cash bar.

The Bob Peters bust unveiling is set for 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Sanford Center and is free and open to the public. There will be a short program for the unveiling, followed by the building opening up for a tour of the hockey wing, samples at the concession stands and more.
