The rosters have been set, the lines have been drawn and the bragging rights have been established for the inaugural Bucky’s Celebrity Softball Game, which is coming to Bemidji State University on June 11.
The rival Green Sox and Whitecaps are set to square off at the BSU softball field, and sides have been chosen for our local celebrities.
A total of 23 competitors will take to the field alongside Bucky for the first-ever showdown. They range from athletes and coaches to politicians, businesspeople and more. And, of course, Bucky the Beaver will be on hand for photos, high-fives and to take in all the action himself.
Bemidji High School activities director Kristen McRae will manage the Green Sox, while BHS teacher Julie Maus will coach the Whitecaps.
The Green Sox lineup also features: Orlando Alamano, Brent Bolte, Krisi Fenner, Joe Gould, Joy Hoffman, Britt Lauritsen, Danny Schmidt, Justin Sherwood, Aleah Shogren, Kevin Waldhausen and Gary “Ziggy” Zerott.
The Whitecaps boasts a dugout with the likes of: Denae Alamano, Beth Bolte, Kurt Fenner, Gwenia Fiskevold Gould, John Hoffman, Joel Hoover, Jordan Petersen, Maya Schmidt, Jason Stanoch and Dennis Weimann.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m., and admission is free for everyone. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Additionally, giveaways and prizes will be up for grabs throughout the game, and all attendees will have the chance to enter for free.
